Nov 10, 2013 - It's working in Outlook for Mac and in Apple Mail, just not for Airmail. Been following the advice on this link to get the EWS endpoint URL, but. Managing the Exchange web services (EWS) using PowerShell. As mentioned, the option for configuring the internal and the external URL address of Exchange web services (EWS) is not available when using the Exchange 2010 graphic interface only when using the Exchange 2013 web management interface.
Hey guys, I recently installed Airmail and I think it's one of the best E-Mails app for Mac out there. Too bad that I have issues with my Exchange account. I put in all information (domain, username, password & the address), but I get a error message when ever I check the settings.
Is there any trick? It's working in Outlook for Mac and in Apple Mail, just not for Airmail. Some more information: Domain field: I put in the same information as on my iPhone HTTP: I got the information from Outlook since the auto discover works there The error message is in the attachment.
The most weird thing is that I received a couple mails (maybe 20), but not the rest. The Airmail folders got created as well. It would be awesome if somebody can help me out here. Airmail Exchange 1.3.1 Solution (worked for me) I tried damn near every combination I could devise to get the autodiscover to work. My web URL (using the OWA path) is connect.mycompany.com and that didn't work.
So I tried a full path to the autodiscover URL itself using, which is the MS recommended path when autodiscover fails. However, that also did not work. In Apple Mail advanced settings you see the full Endpoint path under Internal Server Path.
In my case it is EWS/Exchange.asmx. Using the full path seemed to fix the problem and I was able to connect to my exchange account: Hope that helps someone. I am running the latest generation Mac Pro with 32 GB of RAM. Yosemite has been running very sluggishly for me. Mouse clicks to change windows, opening a new tab in Safari, etc will sometimes take 2-3 seconds to register. It's painful. The problem seems to be something that creeps up over time.
A reboot fixes the issue for 3-4 hours and then slowness returns. So far I have quit every running program without rebooting. Doesn't work. When I fire the programs back up the slowness returns immediately.
Activity monitor shows almost no CPU processes and memory usage is very low. Like most users I have a bunch of programs running, but none of them seem to be the cause because I don't get the system to speed up when I quit them. It's very frustrating. I don't have file vault running or any hardcore background process.
The biggest slowness seems to be changing windows - changing from one program to another. Clicking from mail over to safari or chrome takes several seconds to respond. Does anyone have any ideas on where I might look to troubleshoot the problem or is it an OS issue that I just have to live with?
I looked in console, but I see nothing that jump out. No recurring errors. Appreciate any suggestions.
Launch the Console application in any of the following ways: ☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.) ☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U.
The application is in the folder that opens. ☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
The title of the Console window should be All Messages. If it isn't, select SYSTEM LOG QUERIES ▹ All Messages from the log list on the left. If you don't see that list, select View ▹ Show Log List from the menu bar at the top of the screen. Click the Clear Display icon in the toolbar. Then take one of the actions that you're having trouble with. Select any messages that appear in the Console window.
Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message by pressing command-V. The log contains a vast amount of information, almost all of which is irrelevant to solving any particular problem. When posting a log extract, be selective. A few dozen lines are almost always more than enough. Please don't indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion. Please don't post screenshots of log messages—post the text.
Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting. Thank you for the reply. Below is the log.
A few notes 1. The Handoff Advertising appears to happen when I try to click between applications (or between tabs in safari).
You'll see a delay of about 2 seconds. That's the time it takes for the system to respond. I'm clicking back and forth very rapidly (1/2 second or less).
This shows the kind of lag I'm experiencing. Sometimes the handoff message appears even when I'm not clicking. So I don't know if that was a correlation or causation issue. The following line BUG in process suhelperd225 repeated itself about 100 times. It's bolded below in the snippet. I didn't include that because there's no point. But whatever that was repeated a lot.
Other than abridging that entry this is the log. At this point in time the CPU is idling at 2% and I have plenty of available memory. Any ideas are welcome. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it. Step 1 The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account.
Enable. and log in as Guest. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.” While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your documents or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this behavior; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin. Test while logged in as Guest.
Same problem? After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac” is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
Step 2 The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches. Please take this step regardless of the results of Step 1. Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable.
Start up in and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in. Note: If FileVault is enabled in OS X 10.9 or earlier, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions. Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow. The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically.
You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. It will be slow, but maybe not as slow as you describe. Same problem? After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem.
Post the results of Steps 1 and 2. Thanks for the help. I have done a lot of testing and it appears that the culprit is Google Hangouts. There is an applet that runs hangouts and lets me receive calls from Google Voice. Every time I receive a call through that Chrome / Hangouts the computer slows down more.
I'll see several Google Chrome Helpers showing 'Not Responding' in Activity Monitor. What is odd is when I kill Chrome completely the sluggishness remains until I reboot.
Memory usage is low and CPU usage is nearly zero. (Logging off seems to help, but not as much as a full reboot.) I'm not ready to mark my issue solved, but so far Google's program appears to be the problem. Google has this (or a similar) problem, but I don't think it is fixed. I will follow up in a few days. Eric: Thanks.
I'm not running any AV programs or anything like MacKeeper. So that's not it.
I reviewed the links you sent. I'm familiar with Activity Monitor, and there is nothing that stands out either on CPU, power, or Memory. That's why this is so perplexing. A few of the other links you sent seem to relate more to older machines. Mine is new - Mac Pro built in February. So that's probably not it, particularly since the problem arose immediately after installing Yosemite.
It may be some kind of corrupt file, but since the slowness happens over time I kind of doubt it. Still I will work through the links you sent and see if there is anything that jumps out. Most of the stuff that I have direct control over - like huge email boxes, cluttered file systems, full hard drives, etc are not the issue.
Linc: I do appreciate your help and your suggestion, which is a good one to narrow down the problem. But I cannot do what you ask in your steps because you are asking me to use my computer for several hours in modes that have very limited functionality.
It's literally impossible for me to do what I need to do without my programs or peripherals. So I would just have to idle away the time. If it was a matter of doing it for a few minutes - no problem. But because the problem only arises slowly over many hours I cannot afford to invest the time to run the tests you suggest. Also for what it is worth I have an older 2009 MacBook Pro also running the latest version of Yosemite.
I have many of the same programs installed on this computer and it too develops slowness over time without any telltale problems in Activity Monitor. Occasionally on the laptop Window Server will take up 60% of processor time, but that only occurs for a second or two and not consistently.
I'm away for a while but when I return to my desktop I will attempt to do the PRAM reset and other issues suggested above and report back. Thanks everyone for your attempts to help thus far.
